Is the "Sims" game worth buying? I've heard a lot about it, but I haven't actually played it. Any input?

Hi,

A few people have submitted their reviews at http://www.macgamersreview.com/
So you can check there to see some additional opinions. (that's the whole purpose of the site

I wish more people would send in their reviews, there should be alot more, that game was the #1 seller for a while and I think Aspyr broke some sales records.

Personally I have not tried it, I'm mostly an FPS instant action kind of gamer. But in speaking with others, I have heard it is very addicting.

Cheers,
Tom G3

Yeah. I'm kind of the same way...an "instant gratification" gamer. But, I thought the premise was cool.

I'm just trying to find something that quenches my Diablo II thirst. I've played it enough that I'm pretty bored with it. It was great for months and months, but now it's not very challenging. Can you guys recommend a game that would compare to DII...as far as being intricate and difficult enough to keep one occupied for awhile?

The Sims is just too damn repetitive and boring. It is fun for a few hours but then it is the same exact thing repeated every 15 minutes.

Have you all tried Hardcore DiabloII? I was so bored of it too but then I got into hardcore mode and it is like playing a whole new game again. Also try this: Start a char on a whole new realm or delete all your mules and good stuff and start a new char. It is lots of fun finding all the good stuff over again. It is also fun to have to actually buy equipment again.

I'd recommend Baldur's Gate. But make sure ytou get the patch first, and speed up the frame rate, otherwise you'll be v. bored v. quickly. Alternately, Age of Empires is a GREAT game and there's nothing like duking out on Gameranger in a multiplayer game.

I second that. The Sims is really addicting. If you get it, I seriously recommend you get Livin' Large. You need to buy The Sims first. Lots of people have made there own custom objects for The Sims. I made an entirely seperate building housing nothing but iMacs and G4 Cubes You can get these extras here: http://www.7deadlysims.com/ I hope you get the game, it is really worthwhile!
