Deus Ex for OS X will probably be out a few weeks after Mark Adams gets Unreal Tournament X working decently, since Deus Ex is based on the Unreal Tournament engine. I believe Mark said he hopes to have a new release of Unreal Tournament X out in the next week or two. He's fixing some bugs with the Geforce cards and a ini file bug.

leonard is right. I do think he is being a little optimistic about "few weeks", but he could be right.

Well... I did say a few weeks AFTER he gets Unreal Tournament X working decently. It may take him another month or two to get Unreal Tournament X working decently - although he seems to need the UT engine to be working good for a new project, I forget which one, so it may be sooner. After he gets UT X working good in a month or two then it really shouldn't take to long to do Deus Ex, as it's the same code. Say 3-5 weeks, which to me is a few weeks.

Hmm...I think it would take even more than a couple months to port Deus Ex to OS X. My reason for saying this is because even though Deus Ex uses the UT engine, it is highly modified. For instance, try making a map or mod for UT, and then doing the same for Deus Ex, and you will see what I mean.

Although, in this case I will be glad if I'm wrong, because I love Deus Ex =)

Yeah, well the UT engine is basically the Unreal engine with a few improvements.

Speaking of Deus Ex...has anyone ever successfully beaten the game and seen the mysterious "4th ending" ??

I have beaten the game 6 or 7 times now and I still haven't been able to see the 4th ending...

And has anyone ever tried beating the game by only using the crossbow and prod charger? Hehe...I tried, but of course I had to whip out the GEP gun to axe some of the bigger guys =)

Let's get one thing understood here, what Mark Adams is doing is Carbonizing UT to create UT X (UT for MacOS X), he's not recreating it in Cocoa. And from what I gathered early on, is he is attempting to do this via a patch so that he can apply that patch later on to Deus Ex. From what I gathered this patch would not take too long to create for Deus Ex.

Now it was months ago when he had mentioned this (somewhere on Inside Mac Games), so I don't know how it's progressing now that he's actually working on it...

And yes the UT engine is the Unreal engine with improvements which is what the Deus Ex engine uses.

The 4th ending isn't actually an ending. It's a nightclub scene with many female characters from the game. VERY creepy!
I know, I know, I'm just a rabid fan.
