The latest good adventure game for Mac (they're few and far between) is Riddle of the Sphinx. It's published by Dreamcatcher, which has a few other offerings for Mac.

If you haven't played the Mac-only Nightfall, it's a great real-time 3D adventure with stunning graphics. You can get it at Mac-O-Rama for $17.

Older Myst-like (first-person adventure) games for Mac include Timelapse, Morpheus, Titanic, The Journeyman Project games (1-3), Secrets of the Luxor, Zork Nemesis, The Last Express, Amber, The Castle, Lighthouse, Obsidian. A new one, Adventure at the Chateau D'Or, is supposed to be released on March 17.

If you'd like a switch to comedy and are okay with third-person, inventory-based games, definitely check out Lucasarts' classic adventures. I highly recommend The Dig (though that one is not a comedy).

You can find reviews of most of these games, and much more on adventure games, at the Mac-friendly Just Adventure+ website.

There are no good games for the mac without killing and maiming and shooting. Mindless gore and carnage is all that is good. Must kill, must kill, must kill...

Forget the dock, TaskMenuBar is real GUI innovation:

Try Glider Pro, from Casady & Greene. It's a bit old now, but I believe you can still get it, and there are literally hundreds of houses (glider-speak for scenarios) that people made over the years on the Net.

You might also try RedJack and the Xfiles, both are pretty good thinking games. You can read what a few other mac gamers had to say about them, http://www.macgamersreview.com/

Cheers,
