My friend's iMac is acting funky when it comes to games. Whenever she goes into a game (we tried Quake 3, Quake 2, and the AvP demo), the mouse stops working totally. Before, it would turn on and off, but now it just doesn't work (and it's going off, because the light goes out in the mouse). Anyway, whenever she exits the game back into the Finder, the mouse turns back on. Anyone else have these troubles? Anyone know how to deal with this before we try a reinstall of the system? Thanks!

Are you running the newest Mac OS? That would be 9.2.2 (I assume you're running in 9, since X most likely would not have this problem).
If not, upgrade! You can download it from www.apple.com .
If the problem pesists, I'll be a bit more creative and try to think of a more unique reason. But I will say this -- a system reinstall will likely fix nothing!

Yes, it's 9.2.2. I was thinking maybe it could be the mouse was freaking out when the resolution on the monitor changed, but I tried it with some emulators and just in the Finder, and the mouse was OK -- no flickers or outages. It just doesn't seem to like those other games I mentioned. Maybe something with the graphic libraries/drivers ... but what the hell would that have to do with anything? Fuuuunky. Anywho, think of something else! Thanks!
