would be?
I would have one that was completely interactive, where the game shaped itself around the user, and you could interact with everything in the game. The game would see what you were doing, and give you something fun to do along those lines. Kinda like the "Fantasy Game" in Ender's game.
Or a massively mulitplayer space sim, with politics based completely around the players, in a multi-galaxy universe. One that would be turned on, and would hopefull never stop... or at least not for a long time. They could release patches that update the graphics and tech behind the game, but perhaps keep it always backwards compatible. I mean it would not have to have a story, except maybe a little history leading up to the game. It might even have players that become brilliant military commanders, and become rulers of this universe... Could even have it so that such players can actually get a job playing the game!

The best game would be... Er, scratch that thought!
I always thought the best game (after reading Ender's Game too) would be like the Fantasy Game, but now that you mention it, a MMORPG in space with a huge world of politics, economy, and culture would be amazing.
But there would be so many people who don't get immersed in the game, cheat, etc. that it would almost turn out like... Real life.

Such a game would be really, really cool...
Totally interactive, a romantic (not in the love sense of the word, but in the war sense) rendition of the world. The player could do their own thing, people could take over the world, destroy it and move on to the next...
Oooo, the possibilities. Maybe I will get around to such a game after I finish High School, then university. By then the technology should be able to handle a rudimentary version of what this "game" could be.
Can you imagine how revolutionary such a thing could be? I mean it would be a whole new genre, and would invole some pretty amazing AI. If ever I were to make something like that, I would have the thing be evolutionary. The game never stops, but the world, graphics and AI are always inproving as new technology comes out... Hmm...
We'll see.

Dues Ex was as close to perfect as you can get, bar the AI.

The Fantasy game from Ender's Game would be cool beans. Or maybe even a video game based on Ender's Game. Though I liked Bean more from Ender's Shadow. A MMORPG based on the whole Ender story ... hmm. Anywho, that's it. Hehe.
