Hello, I use a G4/400 with an Intellipoint mouse...this works perfectly UNLESS I install the intellipoint software (to use scroll-function etc..) After installing software I can only move my mouse left or right .So playing UT becomes impossible. Anyone familiar with this problem?

go to your intellipoint control panel. add the UT application to your list of apps and select make sure "Disable intellipoint features for the selected Application" is ticked. you should have no probs now.

from what i have read the intellipoint drivers were based on USB overdrive and does everything you need. It is not buggy or crashy. i don't think microsoft actually had anything to do with making the software they just licensed it.

I've been using USB overdrive for about a week now. Everything was going great up untill yesterday. When starting up my comp, it crashed when loading the USB overdrive extension. This happened over and over again. What could it be?

Hmmm...

I use OS 9.1 also, but the English version. I'd still say USBOverdrive is your best bet.

I had some problems with USBOverdrive at first, until I trashed the USB Mouse Overdrive and USB Joystick Overdrive extensions. These extensions were making some of my games not recognize Inputsprockets. I got rid of the extensions, and the problem went away.

Maybe these USBOverdrive extensions are, at least partially, the cause of your computer crashes. They started making trouble for me immediately after I upgraded from OS 9.04 to OS 9.1.

Alessandro Montalcini probably needs to work on an update.

I trashed the USB Mouse Overdrive and USB Joystick Overdrive extensions a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I have been using USBOverdrive for general tasks, like web-surfing. The scroll wheel on my Microsoft Optical mouse has functioned flawlessly.

You might have to experiment, though. Deactivate (don't trash -- yet) USBMO and USBJO and see if that stops the computer crashes. If the computer crashes stop, move on to see whether the scroll function on the mouse is affected by the deactivation of the extensions.

Sorry that my advice is so general. I don't own a copy of Unreal Tournament, so I can't offer any specific advice to about setting up the game.

I own a copy of Quake, and that uses Inputsprockets, but the mouse's scroll wheel is fully supported in that game; I don't have to use the Intellipoint interface or USBOverdrive to get the scroll wheel to function.
