Hey, I just upgraded to these last night and found Diablo II to be much more playable under OpenGL. Yes there is some slowdown when the crowd gets going, and it is still better under software emulation, but this seems to be some major progress from the last revision of the drivers. I think I'll scale back the colors tonight and see if that helps any.

Just curious as to whether or not anyone else noted some improvement also?

BTW for reference I'm on a DP 800 quicksilver w/ a GeForce 3.

What new Nvidia Drivers? Are they for MacOS 10.x or MacOS 9.x? I wasn't aware Apple released new Nvidia Drivers. Or is this the MacOS 10.1.3 update?

Software Update control panel. It's for Mac OS 9. I found out about it on xlr8yourmac.com. Nothing on any of the other sites.

OT: do you have the Diablo 2 Expansion? If you do, does Diablo 2 crash randomly on your set up? I have the exact same computer and video card, I have reinstalled OS 9 twice and reinstalled Diablo 2 + Expansion 3 times and the game crashes all the time no matter what settings I put in.

I had this ...

You might have been a fool like me

1. Install Diablo II
2. Load Game and create a character..
3. Quit and install Upgrade Pack...
4. Load up game...

The trick is to play the game in between the installs... must need to setup some stuff...

Cheers Edd

Actually for me it crashes when I save and exit games randomly. I've heard that it may be related to the dual processors, but nothing solid. I tried clean loads to resolve the issue but to no avail. I'm hoping the carbon version of the game will resolve this issue. Here's to hoping.
