I asked a similar question on the Peripherals forum, but y'all might have a better perspective on it:
I just ordered a Radeon last night after I realized that Oni'd been released and I'd missed it. Ordered it with a copy of Oni. I plan to put this into a platinum G3/233 desktop containing a lotta memory and a reasonable amount of disk space.
What kind of performance should I get? This is a PCI-based Mac, note. Also, how should UT run on this? To date, it won't run worth bleep on the machine, as its Rage II chip is too old.

Your performance in both games will range from 'functional' to 'slow'. I have a G3/266 with a Voodoo2 card, and it is quite capable of playing UT at around 30 fps with about medium everything. You might expect to notch that up to high detail levels with a Radeon and still get around 30 fps, but I can't guarantee this. It will play quite well, anyways, depending on your preferences for graphics. I have had less experience with Oni (only the demo) but from what I saw it should also play, albeit maybe in the lower range of what is considered acceptable performance. Read that as, I could play it, but with a number of obvious slowdowns especially in the outdoor parts. But again, the Radeon might just handle things a little better than my card could.

Compared to what I'm used to on the Wallstreet, the Radeon is much better. It runs Oni nicely, and UT is pretty good. There's a texture issue, but other than that, things are nice.
