i'm trying to make a cheat plug-in for ev nova, but i can't get it to work. Could someone send me a plug-in that offers a mission in which you get up and land and get 100,000 credits? This mission has to be available everywhere. Also, can someone make a plug-in that makes an empire not mad at you? The Auruan empire is angry with me, and i don't know why... I have 2 missions that require me to go into it's heart, and i can't do that without being killed. So can someone make a plug-in that's like the first one, but takes away your bad record with them and their allies? Thanks in advance.

Nova's been out for a week and you already want to cheat? Nothing wrong with game-enhancing/cheating plugins... but not so soon... Save those for after you've given the game a thorough try... Two months at least...
If you promote the distribution of these kinds of plugins so early, then people new to the game are going to hear of them and try them, ruining the experience. Tough it out, man..

you know what? You're right. It was just that i was a little stuck in EV money wise. But, I really need to make the Auron (however you spell it) Empire and it's allies like me, I didn't do anything to offend them, yet their all angry at me, and so, I can't do a lot of the missions to get money because I don't have a strong enough ship. I can't land on any of the planets either, and it seems as though I'm missing out on a lot of the great story lines like Vell-os. So again, all i need is a plugin that will make them like me (and their allies) and that will be the only time i cheat, promise .

Dude...avoid Vellos like the plague it is...that's like the first thing I did and I really lived to regret it. Basically, if you go there then stuff happens and you can't buy any more ships or upgrades, you can't find any new missions, and you have to keep returning to Earth for missions...which are never there. The game sucks now. I've pretty much stopped playing it.
Consider yourself warned! Don't go to Vellos!

Come on blizzard, the Vell-Os line isn't that bad. It's meant to be an extended tutorial for the game. I rather enjoyed it, its a different spin of the normal EV experience.
itistoday, you realize that you can only complete one of the 6 major storylines (Federation, Rebels, Polaris, Wild Geese, Vell-Os or Auroran) at any play through the game. If the Aurorans are mad at you, so what? You've most likely already taken missions with another government to make them mad at you. Deal with it, play the game, and if you die, reload your pilot file.

the problem is is that I can't seem to find any other major story lines... Oh well, I'll figure it out. Btw, what do you guys think is the best ship you can buy in the game, and from what govmernment? And, if your willing, what mission it is to get started to get it.

LOL...you're exactly like a friend of mine. If things don't go your way, you flip out and call it quits.
I played a game of UT once with my friend Ken...I whooped his ass and then he went into a furious state and trashed the game. I start beating him at Magic the Gathering...he decides that the game was unfair and therefore shouldn't count. I go play Lazer Tag with him...I shoot him twice in a row (by accident mind you)...he takes off his lazer tag pack and leaves.
Why don't you relax and try another storyline thread. Or keep going back to the bar on Earth (or Mars)...you'll eventually get your mission. Trust me.

That's all well and good...but look at it from my point of view. I'm not the target for the game..I've never played any of the EV games before. I tried the demo because I wanted to see what it was everyone was raving about. On my first trip through the game, after about half an hour of play, all of the sudden 90 percent of the game is taken away and I'm reduced to flying back and forth between different planets looking for prices? Even the hardest EV fan among you would have to admit that that's just plain boring. And so, my first impression of the game is fairly negative. That's all. I'm not insulting it or anything, I'm just saying that the beginning seemed like a poor place to put such a restriction on gameplay. I'll probably go back after a while and try to figure out how to get myself out of it...but I'm not going to sit in front of my computer for 3 hours flying around aimlessly, because that's just boring.
That's all. Insult me if you like...I really couldn't care less what you think of my gaming habits

Nah, I actually agree with you that the major storylines start waaaay too soon. The major storylines should only begin after sometime (like say, a few hours of gaming time or a few dozen trade/ferry missions or after buying a more capable ship than the shuttle.)
I agree with you...you're fuct if you've still got the original un-upgraded shuttle you start off in and then get sucked into the Vell-os mission. I dunno what Matt Burch, the ATMOS team 'n' the beta testers were smoking when they let that slip by.
And yeah...it's harsh for someone new to EV to start playing and get the Vell-os storyline as the first storyline.
I'll be waiting for Nova 1.01 so Ambrosia/ATMOS can straighten some things out before I register...besides, I've started a few storylines but the storyline I'm really interested in is *surprise, surprise* the Vell-os storyline which has a bug apparently near the end.

Probably one of the best all-around ships in the game is the Pirate Manticore. No missions needed, just 12 million creds. And 12 mil is EASY to make. No, really. It's an absolute piece of cake. What if I told you about a trade run that did not involve ANY hyperjumps, and with even 1 Leviathan escort could net you almost 3mil per run?
It exists. Lemme know if you want to know what it is, as I'll probably be slaughtered if I give it away openly on the board.

Huh, I entered the Vell-os story line with the basic shuttle and made it through fine. They give you the Dart just when you need it. So many people telling ATMOS what to do, but they're so evenly divided. Make it hard to come across the storylines and people complain that they aren't there or are impossible to find. Give people quick entry to the storylines and they gripe that they aren't harder to find. Without putting out a FAQ of, "if you want an intro storyline, look for such and such a mission opp," but who wants to play a game that's completely handed to them? If Matt was inside your computer, he could gear it to you. As it is, with *so* much story and engine to handle, there's only so much customization they can put it without making things ridiculously complex on the back end, especially for a shareware company that's trying to get the game out so that some of their folks can get paid. 2¢

I'm afraid you're a little muddled up there druber. I don't need help finding any storyline, I've found that already, read my posts if your going to say something.

I just posted something in the General discussions forum, hoping to get better feedback. Oh well, it was in the wrong place anyways, here's a plug-in i'm trying to work on:
Well I give up, I tried the Mac Games forums, not much help there. So I'll try here. Previously I wanted a plug-in that would give me money, but due to consideration I decided that that is cheap. But, what I really need a plug-in for, is to be able to get the Aurorons to not hate me. Please, spare me your ethics, I just need someone who can help me out. I've used that money cheat plug-in (which didn't work anyways), and modifyed it to make the Aurorons not hate me (I REALLY REALLY NEED THIS! I aborted a duel, and now they hate me and I can't complete one of the major story lines! I need to land on Aurora and they keep killing me.)
So, I've made this plug-in, and it seems that I've done everything right, but it doesn't show up in the mission computer on Sol, or anywhere else for that matter. Could some skilled plug-in developer please help me out? The link is here to download the plug-in:
http://homepage.mac.com/gregs2/superrmoney.sit
Thanks in advance.

In the earlier games, the major storylines started only once you had achieved a certain combat rating. Since most newbies start by doing cargo runs, continue with courier missions and only then start fighting, you usually had a good five hours of playing under your belt before it got hard. A more experienced player would know which courier missions to get to buy himself a good fighting ship directly and could get away with less play time before he hit the main storylines.
The problem this time is that ATMOS created a good story, but never really bothered with the details of making the universe work, so the prices are sometimes absurd and the like. The only way to make it a good game was to force players into the main storylines early. Since the Vell-os line starts on Earth, and humans being what they are most newbies land there a lot (the map also encourages this), most people end up in that line.
I've finished the Vell-os line and the Polaris line, and I have to say that both were fairly easy. The Vell-os missions are easy at first and at the end you have a ship that regnerates shields at a rate noone can match, has four powerful beams and can even regenerate fighters. The Polaris is much the same, and the ship at the end - the Raven - is so powerful it isn't even funny. The story is great, and the new engine is impressive, but the universe isn't balanced and a lot of it is frankly to easy to an experienced player.
