As Aspyrs release date of RTCW is now april, I took the plunge, and downloaded the GM from a Carracho server.
And let me tell you: it ROCKS on OSX!
I really can't see why it is not released yet, the creation date of the game is 31/12/01!!!!!!
The SP game is really fun, but the MP game needs a CD key, so it wont run.
Hope they'll release the retail soon!

Yeah. if the creation date is 12/31/01 then its the "Macworld San Francisco Build" thats floating around. That was before it was sent to id and activision for approvoals so there must be something wrong with it still.
however, I've tried the SP and it seems to run perfectly on my machien (10.1.3, dual 450, 576 megs of ram, and a PNY geforce 3) and I'm going to call home and get the SN from my pc purchased copy and see if the MP is fine.
curious that theres such a long delay when the game was done 4 months ago.

Iv played it on a 1.2 ghz P4 with alot o ram and a Geefore 3 ( I think) and it rocked all.
Too bad I cant find a good CD key tho to hold me over online till I buy it .

I actually think its the OS9 port thats causing the trouble!
Has anyone seen a beta of this?
Does the PC version CD-key work on the Mac version?

Well don't expect to be able to complain about the lack of Mac releases on newer games. If you arent' going to buy the games you have no right to complain about the lack of them. Point is, I don't care if you've been waiting. It's not your till you pay for it. You have no right to download it. I want a Corvette but just becuase I can't get one dosen't mean I should go steal it. Have fun, you just had a small hand in destroying the Mac gaming community.

I am going to buy this title when it comes out.
It's simply a stunning game.
It's just too bad about this delay!

I'm actually thinking about buying the PC version to get the CD key.
But It would be better to get the mac package to support the mac sales...

Yes, I suggest that you wait for the Mac package even if it's tempting to just go buy the PC version to get the CD-key...besides...that build is probably not as GM as Carracho makes it out to be (is it ever?)

I also think the ".pak3" files are identical to the pc version, like in quake3.
I would just need to download the 5 mb of main programs and DLL's
Can't wait for doom3, hope it will come alongside the pc version this time....
I know it's not the GM, it's beta3.
It has some occasional crashes, seems like a memory leak.

WOW!
I just tried to run it in Classic and it's infact playable!
About 1/2 the framerate under native OSX.
Also noticed that the app is now a cfm app. I wonder how it would have runned in the original cocoa version...

Still crashes when enabling SMP (Dual Processors) in the config, just like in the beach demo. I hope that is fixed in the final.
Did Mr. Devine fix it in the latest Quake build?

It's better than Hotmail. MS thinks 2MB is enough...but we all know 2MB is actually 1MB since half of your 2MB is actually spam mail and pr0n.
Screw Hotmail and screw MS!

Yeah, I got so tired of the Mac.com quotas I set up my own mail server in my closet. Well, I do still use mac.com...
It's much better than hotmail. Cooler domain name too.
