I'm just curious... which online servers do you all hang out at? Is there some type of MacNN server for UT players? Or if not, I was thinking of having this "Annual MacNN UT Championship" or something like that, just for fun. The winners of this championship could be posted somewhere in the MacNN page. Or is there something like this already exist? I don't know, I just wanted to know.

I haven't played in so long. . .I'm waiting for the full carbonization to be finished.

If we could find a server, I would probably be up for a little inter-varsity action.

If enough people want to, maybe someone, maybe me, can set up a UT server for MacNN'ers. But I'm nto sure if I'm able to do it, my firewall is kind of buggy. I'll see when I have the time or something..

I'd love to play, sure cheerios would love to show off her new iMac

But we can't host with our firewall. Not sure if the carbon preview will be capable of playing.

What time zones are we all in? I'm in US pacific. I suck at UT, but it's fun though... I don't have a lot of very good maps also, i don't know where to download the good ones like Dawn's Monument.

I can host. I have a 10 Megabit line that will be able to host plenty of people.
I cannot do this weekend, however. I will be at a wedding. So lets take a poll. when and what time. I am in the central timezone and evenings (after 7 PM) are best for me.

BUT I think we need to be organized. I think someone should host the files that will be needed so people can be ready ahead of time. This way no one has to download Maps and Mods as we play.

Cool, okay... what maps, mutators, do we want?

As for maps, I always like the big levels.... the bathroom level to be exact... I also like Dawn's Monument. But I don't know where to download these. But I know the bathroom map can be downloaded here: http://gfyclan.com/maps.htm

I'm PST. I'd like to play either straight CTF or LMS. I say the standard classic maps are fine. Basically all the official add on packs from epic. GotY would be possible. I'm not very familiar w/ it. Weekends are good for me. Wednesday nights too.

I really wish I could host, but stupid university has a big ole' nasty firewall.

We ended it right after you left so more people might have tried but I had changed the IP address by then. So is this game plan still viable? Any one with a plan or day and time?

OK fine. But I can only do one day due to classwork and the fact I need to go out to the bars.

Sat evening 7-9 PM CST -- OR -- Sunday Night 10-12 PM CST

Please post the day that is best for you and I will choose based on the most people able to make it. And also if you want to add a map add the link and I will let you know which will be added to the server. I will only add 4 in addition to the ones already included in the basic and and ex pack. Map vote will be on during the game.
Here is one of the 4: http://kokorowish.com/Escherland.zip

Hmm. Now I have a reason to update my UT to the Carbon preview. But a question: I assume I need to actually have a copy of UT installed prior to updating to the carbon release? That's a problem, since I don't have Classic running on my iBook. I guess I could just play on my iMac, though I haven't fired it up in quite a while.

Anyone have any clues as to whether I can install the Carbon preview without having a full install of a previous version? I do have the disc, of course...maybe that's all I'll need to perform the update.

PS--I suck at UT and Q3A, but I actually kind of enjoy getting fragged, so it's all good.

COUNT ME IN!!

I can play either Sat. or Sun. And if I could make a map request, I'd like Ancient if we're playing CTF.

I have had bad luck with all of the carbonized previews, so I'll have to boot back to 9 (first time in months! )

And regarding installing the carbonized preview without the full install...no, you MUST have the full install in order to run the carbonized preview. The preview files are no more than an app, and 2 .ini files that you drag to your full install folder.

Anyway, I will be doing it on Saturday at the time I said above. I will private message everyone who said they wanted to play later tonight... so check your messages. If anyone else wants in please let me know by Saturday afternoon. I will turn on the AIM screen name an hour before the game if anyone wants to reach me.
