<STRONG>MacPlay, a new Mac game publishing company whose 2001 lineup includes Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Sacrifice, and Giants: Citizen Kabuto, is asking for Mac users to e-mail the company at requests@macplay.com with requests for the games they would like to see ported to the Mac.
</STRONG>

So what do you want? I would love to see Age of Mythology II and Starwars Galactic Battleground ported.

I want Half-Life, too, and it'd better be with Blue Shift, Opposing Foce, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike. Alas, Sierra is a fickle b@stard. It cancelled HL for DC, and it hates the sucess of the Mac, imo. Oh well, here's hoping.
I know, I know, I'm just a rabid fan.

Which is really weird because they started life not on the PC but on the Apple II. My religion was Sierra On-Line's King's Quest series and various other old-skool games.

My primary request is Half-life. To see this on the Mac platform would be really really cool.

Second, Jedi Knight 2. Though it is highly likely to be ported anyway becuase it will be on the Q3 engine.

Third, Tribes2, but that is already a good candidate for porting because it's engine is being converted to the Mac anyway (stripped down though).

Fourth, AOE2. The first one came to the Mac, why not the second one?

Fifth, most other games suck, so I don't care.

Well, "The Longest Journey" because it is being hailed as the "greatest adventure game of all time". If you are bored, check out the preview page I put up for it and see what everyone in gaming is saying about it. Forget Myst III Exile.... http://www.macgamersreview.com/longest.html

I'd also like one car racing game, NFS would have been good, but if I had my choice I'd want Test Drive LeMans, I played it on a PC, here is a preview page I put up for it (I love games and I do these when I get bored http://www.macgamersreview.com/lemans.html

Homeworld would have been cool, but it's kinda old news by now. Same with AvP (AvP2 looks to be utterly awesome though).

I would love Soldier of Fortune because I am a big fan of FPSs and SOF is the epitome of FPSs IMO. They say there is a chance of SOF2 coming to the mac because it uses the Q3 engine. Cool.

And, while there has been no official announcements by the Mac game sites, if you read article at the unofficial Mac B&W site, it looks like this game is coming (which is good because it was recently announced one of the #1 seeling computer games and the Mac game platform *needs* top titles like those). http://homepage.mac.com/macblackandw...side_news.html

And yea, HalfLife, because there seems to be one heck of a market for it still.

Lords of the Realm II, a game published by Sierra released for Windows several years ago was a great turn based strategy game. haven't played it since I sold off my wintel PC, but i wouldn't mind seeing it on my mac. That was the first game that kept me up late at night just itching to play one more map....one more hour. it was great!

besides that my choices would be Half-Life, Tribes 2, and Final Fantasy 7, 8!
life is made up of moments...this is one of them

Lords Of The Realm II is actually already available for mac. I had it for PC years ago - and when I got my first Mac, I was pleasantly suprised to find that the cd I had was a hybrid disc.

Check your copy... you might have the mac version after all.

I bought Lords Royal Collection from Amazon.com. The set had Lords of the Realm II for both Macs & Windows machines. It was a four disk set and the Mac version was on a disk by itself. When I bought the set I could not find the Mac version by itself, but the set was very cheap. Hope you can find it.

Oh man. Half-life Counter Strike all the way. This is the game that has forced me to buy a PC (not getting rid of my mac, mind you, but just in addition to my mac). I couldn't resist. If that comes to the Mac, my PC will become a Linux-only box, and I will gladly wipe Windows off the hard drive.

Resident Evil 3: Nemisis...or a recent version of Alone in the Dark.
I've tried the Doom clones, including Half Life (YAWN) :o
I want the terror of not being able to peep around corners and prepare oneself as in Half Life.

Peeps, Half Life is such old news...I could care less by now. Sierra can kiss my behind. I am moving on. Top 3 games that need to be on the Mac.

1. Planetside (Halo? What's Halo?)
2. Dungeon Siege (Diablo 2? What's Diablo 2?)
3. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty ( Hey, I can dream but wouldn't that be Shweet?)

And before someone else spews crap about how Counter Strike kicks so much arse, just think for a moment and realize that Tactical Ops beta 2.0 will be here at the end of this week and then it will be time to say...you guessed it...Counter-Strike? What's Counter-Strike?

My wish list...

•Half Life (plus necessary mods)
•Dungeon Siege (as a rabid Diablo fan... WOW... )
•Evil Islands
•Age of Mythology
•Star Trek Armada 2

There's more, but I limited my list to five.
Be happy.

Thank you for the link to when it is expected to be out. I hope the game is still popular then and that my friends are still playing this game on the Windows when it comes out in October for the Mac so I can play against them.

There are two games I'd like to see for the Mac:

1. Grim Fandango (I know it's old, but it's still my favorite)
2. The Longest Journey

Too much hype is given to FPSs, a little cranial excercise is good too.

Yep. I think pretty much everyone else want Half Life & i'm no exception.

specifically, with the Team Fortress mod in the box as well.

apart from that, and a release date for the Elite Force expansion pack, everything's fine.

thanks.

-the whole EA Sports Series (NBA, FIFA, NHL)
-more racing games

Oh, one more game I'd like to see ported - Vampire The Masquerade Redemption. Oh it is getting ported! Ha!
I know Summoner is going to be Way cool, but Vampire definitely deserves a look. I put up a preview page, but BE CAREFUL, after you read it you might be looking forward to this game as much as I am... http://www.macgamersreview.com/vamprev.html
I'm hoping it will be out and I can buy it at MWNY.

Cheers,

There are loads of games that I would like, but I really miss not having ANY good driving gamez on the mac, i.e LeMans would be great.
I would of suggested Clive Barkers "Undying" as I'm a gerat fan of his (especialy his books) but apparently it's being ported (by Macsoft I "think") to my astonishment, so I can't ask for that one. So, any new, modern, good looking game that combines action with cerebal skills, and is a little bit different will get my cash.
P.S All the above mentioned Q3 engined games MUST come to the Mac (I'd love a decent Starwars, hint hint), and Tribes 2 would be good, big name PC games have got to come to the Mac, this rasie the profile of the Mac in general, as well as a gaming machine, which means more people will by Mac's who will want to buy game's to play on them, and the circle continues...
So NEW, BIG name, QUALITY games, pref with crossplatform internet capabilities, they've all got to be carbonized (although I prefer the term "carbonated"!) blah blah blah, ow dear, I think I'm losing the plot, I better go and do some fragging to keep myself (slightly) sane!

1. Black and White
2. Serious Sam
3. Warcraft III, if not already coming

and a tad off topic, but I would LOVE to see Starcraft and UT ported to OS X. =)

A Carbonized UT and Diablo2 for OS X would be nice, and I must admit to a soft spot for Bugdom as well!
As for brand new games - I did want Half-life but it's a little past it's prime now, I'd prefer to get Unreal2.
Halo looks very impressive but the hardware demands might be prohibitive,
in any case I'd put money on it being X-box only or based on DirectX and unportable.

  • Curse of Monkey Island
  • Armada 2 (Aramada was a POS but had a decent concept)
  • HALO (sigh, that still chaps my hide)
  • Jedi Knight/MOTS (there's yet to be a better SW game)
  • XvT and/or X-Wing Alliance
  • American McGee's Alice (I adore this game)
  • Both Final Fantasy PC games from Square
  • Tachyon or Alligiance
  • Subspace

I'd really like to see someone pick up a bunch of the older successful PC games and do Mac ports of them with a couple of OpenGL enhancements. Case in point: Kedi Knight. Possibly the best Star Wars game ever made if not one of the best PC adventure games. MOTS only made it that much better by adding even more places to go. Fighting the Dark Jedi on that platform trying to keep from getting knocked off the bridge was awesome. Alice is one of the most original games I've ever played even though it uses another game's 3D engine. Curse of Monkey Island is another pretty original game that I really loved playing. It wasn't some giant technical feat it was a creative and really fun game to play. Tachyon was a great space sim, much better even than XvT IMO. Alligiance was the same way, when it was still in beta I spent soooooo many hours playing that gmae. It was a 3D subspace. And then of course is Subspace, one of my favourite all time games. I've played alot of single player games over the years but Subspace is definitely the game that got me hooked on multi-player gaming. Subspace like CoMI was just a blast to play. I'd really like to see a Subspace resurgance especially if it was cross platform. Well that brought back alot of gaming and computing memories. Those are the games I want ported!
