Does anyone know if a Voodoo 5500 PCI card intended for a PC can be used in a Mac with the latest version of the Mac Voodoo drivers?
I am using a Beige G3 300MHz (Rage Pro version), and have found a very good deal on a PC Voodoo 5500. Are there any hardware differences between the Mac and PC versions of this card which will stop me from using it in my Mac?
Help would be much appreciated.
Daniel

Definitely not.
THey are separate cards, and that is why they are sold as separate products.
Unfortuantely, if you want to use a voodoo card on your mac, you must buy the mac version of the card.

Is there any more you can tell me? What is different between the two cards?
Since the Voodoo 3 cards worked fine in PCI Macs, despite being a PC card, your reply is quite a surprise!

Yeah, but the Voodoo3 was never intended to be used on a mac, so they basically made a software/firmware hack that enabled it to work. The Mac voodoo5 was built from the ground up with either PC or Mac compatability. They wont be releasing another hack so you can use a PC card on the Mac when the Mac card is out. Plus, I would wait until the VD5 AGP comes out before buying...
