Sheesh what a lowsy selection of servers...
4 AoE2 servers?
3 Quake 3 servers?
1 UT server?
0 SW:GB servers?

and this was at midnight,

are there any other programs more widely used?

It'll get more. There are still souls out there with OS X, games and the will to play and host who haven't heard that GR 3 is out...give it a week or two

GameRanger seems to support more games. The only app similar to GameRanger that I'm aware of is Only Mortal which is OSX only. I've been using OM since I spend most of my time in OSX (about 99.99%). But it's mostly id games (Quake 1, 2, 3, RTCW). So if you're not into those, then GameRanger is your only option. I just downloaded the OSX update to GR and it works great......joe

Anyone want to play some games?

What and when?

In the OS 9 days was much more widely used. However, when X came out, the Game Ranger scene became all quiet. Expect it to become a lot more popular in the upcoming months

At 9:45 AM EST (early Sunday morning), I count 8 AoE2 games.

You probably missed the Servers folders for Q3A and UT. There are around 3000-4000 servers for each of those games.

SW:GB has only just been released and hardly anyone has it yet.

*is one of the souls who had not known the new version was out*
It's been a long time since I used GameRanger... but I suspect that time is about to come to an end! I wonder if my account is still active... when I used to play Ares (and others), there were only a few hundred people online at any given time.
