I just picked up my copy at the local Electronics Boutique. It looks cool, and I have to wait till I finish work before going home and trying it out. So if you're waiting for this, call around, some stores have got em now.

Wicked, keep us updated.

I want a copy asap but its not out here in australia yet.

Official release date worldwide is Friday; I hope the store you sold it at wont be fined for selling prior to the official release date (this can happen).

Ill be getting my copy next week most likely.

Actually it was officially released two days early. How about that for software company? Early release! I bought mine yesterday.

I encountered an interesting problem. At times my head will disappear. During the walking animations my character's had ceases to be, but when I start hacking away my head rematerializes. Also, NPCs in town have the same thing happen to them, and their heads only reappear if I talk to them. I was running it in 800x600 (yes!).

Another problem I noted is that it seems to be running significantly slower than D2 even in 640x480. It was very irksome at times. I think this may be due to the fact that it was really grinding my HD. Much more than a game should. I don't think it's accessing VM because I have plenty of RAM (320).

Enough of the problems. The magical items are sweet and I find jewels/gems/skulls problem four times more frequently than I ever did in D2. Gold is dropped everywhere too. Did anybody do the personalize deal with that one chick?

A couple of questions for those who have started to play Act V. After completing the first quest the blacksmith guy will socket an item for me, will he do this for a magical item or if I socketed a magical item will it lose its magical abilities? The second quest says I can't complete it and I need to start a new game, does this mean I have to start all over or just restart the game so all the monsters I have slain in that area come back? Thanks for the help.

Just restart the game. The same thing happened to a game my brother and I were working on while on Realms. Same quest as well. We saved one group, it said 'save 10 more', we saved another 5, it said 'save 5 more'... we saved the last 5...'you can't complete this quest.' Pretty annoying. Make sure you send it in as a bug report!

That's the quest you have to rescue the barbarians. If you notice, they are attacked by hostiles, and they appear to take damage. So it may have been that one was killed while you weren't watching. If that was the case there's no way to rescure the requirement of 15.
