I'm trying to run the Sim Theme Park demo, but when I try to start it I get "Error: Engine could not be initialised" and the game quits. This is on a G4/450MP with Radeon video card and 256mb memory.

Anyone have an idea?

What version of OpenGL are you using and have you tried increasing the preferred memory allocation on the Theme Park World Demo app?

I'm running OpenGL 1.2.1 and I've upped the memory to 170mb and still no go. I've tried changing screen size and resolution and bit depth, but still nothing.

I sent a message to the email address the Readme said for Mac support, but have not heard anything back. Oh, well. Guess I'll just dump it and move on to something else.

I've just bought the full game of Theme Park World (UK version of Sim Theme Park) and have the same problem as jtsombakos. I have a Performa 6400/200 56mb RAM with the standard 1mb VRAM, I thought it was the computer being too low a spec but if jtsombakos had the same on a G4 what is going on? I don't know whether to take the CD back or keep it and hope it runs on the new Mac I'll be getting in a few months. Can somebody please help? Pleeeease!

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

Have you downloaded the latest patch of the game? There was a fix put in for the startup problem.

Frag on(well maybe not in this game),
