Okay i updated a while ago to version I think it is 1.17, and everything is fine with Q3. Then I wanted to play some mods like RTSquake and Western Quake, so i download them, put the folders in the base quake dir, load up Q3a, then click on Mods, and the list is there, so I click on Western quake, it loads up the custom menus and whatnot, so i try a single player game, but right when its starts connecting to localhost i get a error that say VM_compile out of range number at 44546, and quake quits, I get this for any mod I load, its sad. Can i not load mods on my mac, or am i forced to only use a few specific ones, I would update to v1.27 but the Id software ftp seems to be down now, any suggestions peeps?!

Hopefully once mac Q3 v1.27 goes final, and mods update, we won't be seeing these mac-only vm errors anymore. Apparently the 1.17 vm code on the Mac is more picky than its Windows counterpart, but I've heard (secondhand) from id that that stuff should be taken care of with the 1.27 patch.

thanks guys, anybody else have some solutions to this problem, I really wanna play that western quake. Does anyone know if there is a mod being developed for q3a that is just like counter-strike, THAT WOULD BE THE BOMB!!!
anyways, i digress, it will never happen, unless some mac people come together to create the mod themselves, but first you have to wait for that mapping program to be finished, you need a modeling program, and you need some programmers, it would take a while, but maybe instead of waiting for something to come along for us, we could get up off our asses and do it our selves??? maybe.
see ya.
