This game would get the respect it deserve only if it is release to PC and Mac too...

I'm looking forward to Unreal 2 instead. It feature same graphics and polygon on PC/Mac that look close to XBOX. Well, if you have top-of-the-line computer with GeForce 3, it'll look 90% similar to XBOX.

You appearantly don't know that Unreal 2 is Direct X 8 based, which is PC only and has no equivelant on the mac. I've spoken to the associate producer of Legend Entertainment about this and he says there is basicly no way it will be ported, or any future unreal games, to the Mac.

yeah,
thats exactly what they said, what they said at E3 btw...

and this is exactly what both aspyr and mark adams replied to, that they already brougt a lot of great games to the mac, like tony hawks 2, ut and unreal, falcon 4, etc, which were all direct x 8 based, which is, by the way, 80% OpenGL....

so, do not worry, we will get Unreal 2.

If they do want to earn money with UC we will get that one too...

Legend says they have no plans to develop it, but if it did happen, it would have to be given a green light by Infogrames and Epic Megagames, and then they wouldn't do it, but hand the project down to some porting company.

I hope Unreal II comes to the Mac. I'm sure Westlake would be more than happy to port it over. We can always pleasantly bug Legend and Epic to bring it over to the Mac - It shouldn't be too hard of a sell, Epic was involved in Unreal and UT, and I'm sure UT on the Mac made them money.

Rampant, that's SOP these days. If you aren't initially working on a mac version, there isn't much reason to keep mac programmers in-house. So you feed the public the basic "no plans at this time but we aren't ruling out a port" and watch PC sales, feedback from mac users, etc.
