Okay, suddenly Q3 doesn't work on my computer at the office anymore. I don't usually run those kinds of games here, but I had to try the Team Arena Beta. When I launch it I get a "Quake 3 Error. Could Not Initialize Open GL." Does anyone know of a fix? Why all of the sudden it won't work (Q3 worked when I had it on here a few months ago). I'm running OpenGL 1.2.1. on a PowerMac G3 333 with 288 RAM.

Could be wrong here but I think opengl vers 1.13 is the latest, (is it the same on a powerbook though?) I dont know why quake has a problem now and not before but the team arena demo may well require a later version of open gl. I imagine you've sorted it by now but It's worth installing anyway.

Hi--

Actually, the latest version of OpenGL *is* 1.2.1 :^). I downloaded it from http://www.macupdate.com.

I've had trouble getting OpenGL 1.2.1.to work with my F/A-18 Korea flight sim -- there are a lot of texture artifacts that weren't present when I used OpenGL 1.1.2. My other OpenGL games seem to run OK with Open GL 1.2.1.

I suspect, for the time being, the only solution to your problem with Quake III Team Arena is to reinstall an earlier version of OpenGL. The earliest version I've seen on the Apple website is 1.1.2. (check out http://asu.info.apple.com.).

Hope this helps.

Tristan
