I don't know if this is happening to anyone else, but Oni seems to freeze often on my DP G4 450 with 192 Mb of RAM. Other than the freezing Oni is a very cool game.

This happens to me also. I have a G4 Cube w/ 128MB of RAM and virtual memory is on. Every once in awhile, at seemingly random times, it'll just totally lock everything. Bullets freeze in mid-air and everything. Oh well.

I've heard that it's good to keep it at 112000 k of memory and NOT increase it.

Hmmm... I've been playing Oni for 3 hours straight at 1024x768 @ 32-bit res on a G4/400/128MB (192MB VM)/Rage Pro 128 Mac and have had no troubles so far. I'm running Mac OS 9.0.4 with standard extensions...

I also had problems with it freezing. Eventually it would freeze everytime the first guy in the airport with a machine pistol would fire.

So i deleted it and uncompressed a fresh version and the problem went away.

No, ladies and gents, the full version is NOT out, quite yet. Supposed release date is Jan. 29, however--maybe sooner, @ MWSF?--and there is FINALLY a demo available for download at the usual spots: Download.com, etc.

What these folks are probably playing is 1.0b4, an internal beta that was leaked onto the Internet, and spread like wildfire. I admit that I play it, too. Bleedin' GREAT game. I've been salivating over this one for what feel like years now--might actually have BEEN years--and it's every bit as good as I had hoped; perhaps even better. When the full version is out, I will assuredly buy it. Maybe even get a PS2 to play it on. :-)
