YES! I have played and played it. If you like rpgs its the best. Its alot like baldurs gate but in a post apocolyptic setting with guns and heaps of sex, violence and gore.
Drugs too. Strictly adult stuff but honestly, it is one of the best rpgs ever made. If you like this sort of thing you wont be disappointed (perhaps one note - its a couple of years old now and looks it, but the graphics are still perfectly functional).
Heaps of different ways to play the game too, and one of the best stat and character development systems Ive used in any computer OR pen and paper RPG. BUY NOW
And one last comment, the actions and choices you make in the game, such as help such and such, or shoot him and rape his kids, actually impacts the way the game ends ---!!! Its really cool.

oh god (start rant)
fallout is THE BEST rpg ever made.
fallout 2, which unfortunately wasn't released for the mac (afaik, anyway)
is even better. the mother of all games. you can do ANYTHING, and it will be useful and end up influencing the game. one of the only true roleplaying games made, because you can just as easily play the bad guy and live to kill and enslave everyone you meet. you can talk your way through, fight your way through, or simply ignore completely (or mix and match) the bad guys. it's great.
a reccomendation: if you have access to a pc get fallout 2 as well!
it's better, bigger, and more advanced. and it builds on fallout, so you have a sense of history. great, great games.
(end rant)
seriously.
amazing games.
go for it.

oh yeah.
because you can go any way and be any type of person,
fallout has an incredibly huge replay value.
besides, it's a _completely_ different game as a male or female character.
wow.

Fallout is the best role playing game ever made for the Mac. And probably the second best ever for the PC. ('Cause they got Fallout 2.) I agree with everyone else.
But I should warn you that I haven't been able to play a CRPG since seeing Fallout about 3 years ago. Everything else is horrible in comparison. Especially Baldur's Gate. That game feels like such a hack.
