A number of months ago, I got ahold of Oni beta v.6 or something, and played the whole thing. I was wondering if anyone has finished the retail version and whether or not there's a better ending.
In the beta, the last fight scene is in that big "loading dock" type of room and you have to take out a few of those big robots as well as the twin brother character. After I did that, nothing happened! There was no cut scene, movie, or anything. It just went back to the chapter select interface. A few chapteres earlier you have the chance to kill the scientist dude or not. I tried it both ways, and it didn't have any bearing on the outcome. If I left him alive, he never made a cameo.
It's been months since I played it, so if I'm describing things incorrectly, I'm sorry. I just always wondered about that....

Hi,
since Oni is, imho, one of the coolest games ever, i will give you an answer:
After the last fighting scene, which is as you described, a movie shows up, which demonstrates how Konoko walkes through the streets of the city and talks about anything I cannot remember anymore.
To the other question:
If you kill the sucker, nothing changes, if you do not kill him, he will show up and help you _and_ the big ugly boy will remain a small one. Hmm, this sounds bad, anybody a better mind? I am not too sure about that…

Your beta sounds cooler than the full version. No big robots in regular Oni.

Maybe the robots got changed to the elite stikers (who kinda look and act like robots). "Cannonball!!!"
In the final scene, Muro (your evil twin brother) is assisted first by a pair of Furies (the female strikers). If they die before Muro, then a pair of elite stikers replaces them. And if Muro outlasts those guys, a ninja joins the fight.
And, silverlode, the movie is nothing to miss. It's really anti-climatic.
