I'd read that 'press release' somewhere else, after doing a quick search. Obviously they want to keep things under wraps as There's not a single mention of it on their site (I managed to connect to their site eventually) That was written in June earlier this year and I wonder if there had been any developments since. I'll post it here if I find anything.

I didn't follow the link but here's the last I heard. It will be out in 2002. Todays "monster" systems will be minimal for D3 when it comes out. Similarly, current 3d acceleration won't cut it. I bet the 500 G4 won't even run D3 at default settings when it comes out.

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting Doom3 when it comes out, so I'll have to be getting a new comp I guess. Luckily, I'll be in the market for a new computer come 2002. . .and I will be buying a Mac ONLY if the hardware has gotten some serious updates. Otherwise, I'm going to Linux. However, I have faith in Apple, but it sure isn't unshakeable.

Same here. My new machine comes in wed., and I hope to get a new Mac right around the time Doom comes out as well. All the answers should be in by then: OS X, MHz, and 3D accel.
