I usually buy games for consoles, but since I own a Mac I figured I should support the games for the platform somewhat. The problem is I don't know computer games very well. I figured I would start with a puzzle/strategy type game. Any recommendations?

Myst III perhaps? Lots of puzzles. Very challenging. I haven't found the time to play it, but I hear it's very good. The graphics are stunning. Guess I need to put some time aside and play it. Riven and the original Myst are also very good puzzle games. You should be able to pick them up in the masterpiece package at a reasonable price somewhere.

As for strategy Age of Empires II just got released for the Mac. I haven't played the Mac version yet, but if it holds up to what I've seen on the PC, it's a fun game. Assuming you can play with your PC buddies (Can you?) the multiplayer aspect of this game is great...

What kind of system do you have? Your kind of system will depend on whether or not you can play Myst III: Exile.

Personally, Exile was a disappointment for me. Riven was the best.

I'd personally recommend Myst, and then going for Riven.

Riven is the Cream of the crop, IMO. But it always helps to have a little back ground of the game.

Plus, Myst and Riven are dirt cheap now days...

hope that helps.

if you can find a copy of it 3 in Three was the best puzzle game ever released. And I think it was Mac only.
