Is there a known issue with iMacs running the latest MP demo of Return to Castle Wolfenstein?
I downloaded MP Test 2 (or whatever the latest version is officially called), and shortly after launching into what I hoped would be my first Wolfenstein game, I experienced a HARD FREEZE on the "entering the game" splash screen that even a Force Quit could not negate.
Deleted that version of Wolf, re-downloaded it from another site, installed, and now am experiencing equally fatal crashes from the main menu screen! I get about 10 seconds of stirring WWII music, some flag-waving and then a nice Classic OS-style crash.
What's with this?
On a related note, I was dismayed to see such a crash in OS X... I know that it's possible in any OS, I'm just hoping that these sorts of lock-ups and modal freezes become so rare as to qualify as quaint curiosities from the distant past. At the absolute worst, I want to be able to Command-Tab out of such a mire, not be stuck into rebooting the computer!!
