Ok guys, here's a brain teaser.
Will the soon to be released "Return to castle Wolfenstein" for Mac Os X be released as a downloadable binary file to used witht eh Windows version (as was released for linux)?
Or will there be a complete boxed version come end of December?
My bet is on ID Software releasing a downloadable binary, a la Q3TA.
Whatdaya think?

I've never played Q3TA so I don't know what they did there, but I would hope they create a box version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the Mac.

My bet is both. Binary as soon as it's ready for the public then box as soon as production allows.

I'm pretty sure I read that it would be a boxed Mac game. But that's not to say it still couldn't work by downloading a game file when the updates become available...you just won't be doing the Mac game market any favours by going that route.

The game is going to be a boxed Mac only version. No downloads will be available not until they release an update to it which might never take place.
I think that sucks. The game should be released as a Hybrid version (once the Mac version is ready) or let us download the executables and use the PC CD. There is no point in making a Mac only version. Which will miss the christmas sales and be released first in January (if we are lucky) where they could just let us download the application and start blasting away.

I've always thought it to be a boxed game. I've already played through it on my PC. It's pretty good. Too easy though. And the last boss, you just have to sneeze on him a few times.
