I have a number of them, so it'll probably be easiest if I just make a list.

1.) My mouse drivers crash the game.
2.) If I take my mouse drivers out of my system, then my system crashes the game.
3.) If I install a new system on a new partition, then my new system on my new partition crashes the game.
4.) If I sneeze, I crash the game.
5.) If the game crashes, then all of my save games, no matter how numerous or powerful, disappear never to be heard from again.

Has anyone else had any similar problems, or heard of any similar problems, or seen a patch or something somewhere, or see one of my stray save games waddle past their house? If so, please help!

Blizzard.

P.S A little more info might be helpful I guess..the game crashes either on the loading screen, or when I go into the game options window to make adjustments or save or load a game or quit. Never during the game itself, always in that little window. And yes, all of my saved games actually are deleted for no apparent reason...

If anyone is interested, I figured out the problem. Something called 'Texture Compression' was enabled by default, which seemed to be the cause for the problems. After I unchecked it, I could play the game on both my systems, old and new, with and without mouse drivers, and not have any problems whatsoever. The game was rock solid and tons of fun...if only I hadn't finished it five days of light play.
