I searched the forum to see if this had been posted already and I didn't find it, but if this is a repeat forgive me.

How do you install a formerly OS9 game which has been patched to OSX if you don't have classic installed. For example. I own diablo II (from back in my darkside days) and downloaded the new OSX patches. Then I popped in the disk and double clicked the installer. OSX went looking for classic but couldn't find it (cause its not there). Am I just SOL or is there a work around (besides reinstalling classic)? Thanks.

you may be in trouble. see if there is a carbonized installer. i'm pretty sure that starcraft had a carbonized installer made available. <goes looking> yeah, but it doesn't say it's carbonized. i found nothing similar for d2. short of installing os 9, i don't know what you can do. do you have another computer you can install it on and then transfer over?

The way I see it, if you like a game enough, with the size of today's HDs, 200+ MBs on an HD for dealing with Classic apps is a small price to pay to be able to cope with the occasionaly classic only installers or classic only apps.
