Anyone get Fallout 1.1 to work on Mac OS 9.1?
I'm able to play the unpatched 1.0, but not with the 1.1 patch. After installing the patch, I can't save more than once per session - and I can't restore at all. This makes it quite difficult to play... :-)
I've played with the 1.1 patch on an 8.x system, but I don't think I've done it on any 9.x system. Since the 1.1 patch fixes some pretty serious bugs, I'm reluctant to play unpatched, but I am really in the mood for Fallout.

yep, I think there's something wrong with it, as I couldn't get it to work without getting the word "error" all over the place as soon as I started to think about saving...
However, I read on some forum (maybe it was this one) that if you *dont* name your save games, you wouldnt get those crashes! I havent tried that method myself, yet, but I suggest you try it.
Delete or backup your current save games and install a new copy, then start a game as you usually would, but when you are about to save, DONT enter anything in the "name box", just save. If this method works, please post back here and tell us!

No go. It did the same thing as before - "error" all over the place. Thanks for the idea, though...

No, unfortunately Fallout 2 was never released for the Mac. Fallout 1 was, but is very difficult to find nowadays (I couldn't find any place still selling it; managed to pick up a copy on eBay).

I think the 'no name' workaround only works with a brand new game. Once you name anygame, all the other games are shot... I think. I don't have my normal computer around to test it out (out of town on vacation). I'll try when I go back home.
