I just downloaded QTA and was wondering whether the full
version is already out or when the release date will be.
Thanks

Quake III: Team Arena has been out for ages.
When you get it, remember to update the client to 1.27h. It will update your computer to 1.27g, but 1.27h restores 1.17's sensitivity and eliminates shaders to raise the framerate by 25%.

Note that you'll need to buy the PC version of Quake III: Team Arena and copy the data folder from the CD to your quake3 folder.

Thanks for the clarification. I was confused because of the different
demos I played (Q3 vs Q3TA). Why don't they release a proper Mac verion?
Is Q3 already Altivec enhanced ??
Thanks

In Graeme Devine's latest .plan he said the latest builds are running fine in OSX, judging on what he had said earlier about the build being Alitvec and OSX enabled I'd assume that the next Point release will be fine.
We just need to wait..

Just to clarify, the reason Id hasn't released an AltiVec native version of Quake 3 is because of an error in CodeWarriors compiler. It can't compile AltiVec assembly correctly, even after the recent update issued a few months ago.
We just have to wait for MetroWerks to catch up...

How long can it take for Metrowerks to catch up? I thought they were pretty efficient at software development...

Is it just me, or are there practically NO Team Arena servers?
I'm running 1.27h on my Mac, installed Team Arena, it runs fine, there's plenty of regular Q3A and Rocket Arena servers, but VERY few Team Arena servers -- about six out of the 2048 it says it searched. And all of those either have no people on them, or just bots. I played a game with the bots, and it worked fine, but they're bots.
Where is everybody?!

I am soooooo glad I came across this post in the forum! I am wanting to upgrade to Quake 3: Team Arena and I've been trying to install release 1.27 for ages now! Everytime I install it, I end up messing up Quake 3 and I have to reinstall it, I'm always getting a message when it "attempts" to boot saying that it was looking for a certain verion but found a different one. It then closes down.
What am I doing wrong? How do you properly upate Q3A to the 1.27 point release?
Please send the response to: Bucketo_1@hotmail.com
Cheers!
