It's not a joke. Gaming on Macs is actually decent. Quake III runs well on the latest iMacs. My 800-megahertz iMacs usually never dip below 125 frames per second (what I have my framerate capped at) with my elite configuration.

125fps??? Possible if you run at 640x480. I'm talking about really running it. 1024x768(or greater), all the settings maxed...that's how it was meant to be played.
But on a side note: It's nice to actually see the Mac evolving into a system that can actually run the games.

I have lots of fun in Q3, UT, and Descent 3 on my 333 MHz PowerBook G3. I use 640x480, set the detail to a happy medium, and get framerates that may not make me a god but look fine, with occasionally fps plunges that keep me out of really crowded games.
I'd love a dual G4 with GeF4Ti, but it works and it's great FUN, even without 1024x768 and a higher fps than the display can even show. There is no other purpose to games than to have fun, after all!
So a new TiBook with Radeon 7500 sounds even more fun! (If there is some solution to it showing all games shrunk down in a little window.)

Will that file work on RTCW and an iBook? I know RTCW uses Q3 engine...

I think it will work with RTCW- to a point. I mean, it shouldn't cause any problems if you rename and replace the .cfg, but some tweaks wont work, and you'll have to rebind all your keys etc. Try it.

Well after a bit of tweaking it does work. And give the best looks erformance ratio i've seen yet, but Single player is still almost unplayible on an iBook. I'll try to get it a bit more iBook-ish and then post it up.
