RTCW MP how to use a snipper?

Hi everyone, I have just started playing this game (under OSX) and have seen other users using snippers, how do you use the scope in a weapon? I am stuck, I can't find this information and I want to try it out! BTW I have all the options reset to default settings

Just go to settings, find the secondary weapon control, and set it as "z"
Then, go back and press Z
Scroll wheel changes the zoom level

 nothing happens! I did what you sugessted and when I press it, the 'mauser' weapon appears on the top right corner of the screen, but the view stays the same, strange? I am using the right weapon for it right?

the scope is the 'secondary weapon' function. so hit 'z' or whatever button assigned to secondary weapon AFTER you select the sniper rifle

Hey guys, thanks I got it to work ... I was selecting "special weapon2" instead of secondary weapon ... thanks a lot! if you play the game I play as 'dmk' always for the Allies.

Snippers work insanely well on Axis soldiers. They tear those coats apart!

Are you guys playing test2 or retail version (or a different version)? I just got the retail version and can not see any other servers. It states, awaiting response from server. Are you guys getting server lists in RTCW retail?

I haven't played the retail version yet ... still playing the tester.
