Seeking car racing or car simulation game

Hi. This is my first post to the Game Forum as I am not a gamer. I am not a gamer, however, I would like to know if there are any games featuring cars whether it be a car racing game or car chasing game? I am sure those types of games are in the commercial game market. Would anyone know if car games also exist in the shareware or freeware market?

Unfortunatly Mac gaming is really lacking a great racing game, but "Driver" is supposed to come out in september so our wait is almost over. If you like that type of game and can't wait why don't you try Star Wars Episode One Racer?

GrandPrix 3 maybe appearing for Christmas (but prob Jan 2001), 4X4 Evolution & Driver will both be out soon, & look really good, that is if you hadn't completed Driver at least a year ago like me; Why on earth didn't MacSoft do Driver 2 instead, it looks like it will be a better game, & EVERYONE'S played driver already at some point, & MacSoft are moaning about lower than expected sales, not that anyone else is, but anyway back to the reason that I'm making this post & that's to inform of you of a couple of old & some not so good racing games available-

ATV PowerSports
Also if your looking for speed as proux mentions "Star Wars Episode One Racer" will give you all you'll ever want.

We recently posted a preview of Driver, which has a lot of different driving elements and is expected for release on September 26th. We also did a feature story late last month on Pangea Software's Cro-Mag Rally, a 3D kart racing game which should be released late this year.

Excuse my ignorance but isn't Aspyr publishing F1 racer or is that Grand Prix 3?

No, Aspyr hasn't announced any racing titles at this point. Feral Interactive has announced that they will be publishing Formula 1 2000 to the Mac, but has not announced a release date or further details thus far. Right now they're working on shipping Sim Theme Park (Theme Park World outside the U.S.) hopefully in September, which will be distributed in the U.S. by Aspyr Media.

I'd crap my pants if a mac version of Gran Turismo 2 ever game out... or something similar to it. That game rules. Oh well, until then, I'll just play my 'backup' version through Connectix VGS.
Actually, if you like racing games, just get VGS, and BLAM! Access to all the racing you could want.
