Mine is the Koreans. Their War Wagons are very tough and can take a beating. Combined that with some scorpions and catapults, then they are invinsible! Funny, that in AoE 1, the Yamato were my favorite.

It's generally accepted that the Persians are overpowered...
A massive army of fully-upgraded war elephants with trample damage is almost impossible to defeat.
The key, of course, to defeating the Persians is to cut off their resource supply as early as possible, since war elephants are VERY expensive.
Personally, though, since most people ban persians, I like the Chinese and the Teutons.

Yeah, a herd of elephants are impossible to stop. The key is to attack early to destroy them first. I also like the Chinese but wish that their Cho ku nus had longer range.

I tend to like the Japanese with their samurai and speed-trebuchets. My preferred army is typically 15 Sam, 15 Pikemen & 10 Arbalests, with 2 monks and 3 trebuchets tagging along. It gets ugly.
