Is there some problem with D2 loading saved games in X?
Half the time when I load up my character (level 26 Bowazon, act IV), the game just displays the loading graphics, shows that it's come to the end and then... nothing. Just stands there doing absolutely fsckall... I then have to force quit, restart the game, and try for another 50-50 chance of loading the game properly, time and time again until the game actually loads. What's wrong?
Oh, I'm using 10.1.4 and D2 version 1.09b.

I'm getting the same problem on internet games...I've stopped playing D2 because of this.

I have the same problem on my iMac. The only solution I've found is to play either in:
A) a window. For some odd reason that works.
B) with software rendering
Hardware acceleration doesn't work on my iMac DVSE (ATI) so go figure.
(yes, I got the right patch)

Does it crash D2 and the rest of the system? I have this problem and am forced to use software rendering. But I can play full screen...

Hardware acceleration doesn't work on mine either (PBG3 300), and software rendering doesn't solve the problem (since I have to use it, and that's when the problem's cropped up).
I'll have to have a go with windowed mode.

I've had the game crash on me as well. Sometimes it just hangs for a few seconds, then switches into the Finder and tells me that D2 unexpectedly quit. I had that happening recently in Act V, just when I was about to complete the first mission. I then reloaded it, and the experience points were the same as when it crashed, but I lost all the maps and had to do the entire thing all over again.
It's never brought down the entire system though... I just love OSX!
Well, at least I'm not alone with the problems... Maybe Blizzard will fix it in the next release (1.10, supposed to be on the works).
