I have a dual 800 with a GForce2MX with twinview installed in my AGP slot. I want to upgrade to a GForce3 (the best one... whatever that is) or a GForce4 (the best one... whatever that is). I would like to still have dual monitor support (need both digital and vga like my current card allows).

My question is: are there cards available that can do this? of so where can I get one?

I would rather not have to use both an AGP slot in addition to a PCI slot - so I am looking for a top-of-the-line GF3 or GF4 that supports dual monitors...

thanx

It sounds like the best thing for you is to wait for Apple to sell the Geforce 4Ti card. Apple is supposed to be selling an OEM Geforce 4Ti card sometime (soon?) which has an ADC and VGA connector.

There is also a retail ATI Radeon 8500 available from ATI right now with DVI, VGA and s-video (you would require a DVI-to-ADC adapter if you have a monitor with ADC).

You could also try to find a used Apple OEM Geforce 4MX card or ATI Radeon 7500 (they have ADC and VGA), but since they are OEM cards and Apple only ships them on new PowerMacs, they are hard to find. There are also reported problems with the Geforce 4MX (a white flashing). You may find one on eBay.

All the cards I mentioned are dual head (dual monitor) cards.
