I've been bitten by this particularly wicked bug; it's happened to me twice, at the most inopportune times (e.g., when you have Duriel down to 10% health).

The easiest solution is to set USB Overdrive to disable itself for Diablo II (thru the control panel).

D2 can see second mouse buttons without USB Overdrive, so you lose nothing by disabling it for that game.

(although, if you have a 4-button mouse, that's a different story)

Also make sure you have the latest USBO; an update was posted eariler this week.

mino, i will do just that and see how things go. i have USBO 1.3.7 or something, so i guess that's the newest, everything was working fine with 1.3 until i upgraded :-) good thing DII can see multi button mice.....that's all i have to say. ever try playing DII with a trackpad for escape? it's rough! Thanks for your help! hopefully that will solve the problem! :-)

I use the new Apple Pro Mouse, USB Overdrive 1.3.7 and Diablo 2 with no problems.

Just make sure that if you don’t have a wheel, tell it that.

Seems ot work beautifully for me...
