I just completed Diablo II and I'm looking for a new game to start. What have you all seen as good RPG/Adventure games for the Mac? How is Baulders (sp?) Gate?
Thanks,
Steve
P.s. I know there is an expansion set out for Diablo II

Baldurs Gate is more of a traditional AD&D RPG. If you like that kind of thing you will prob like it as it is hailed as one of the best RPGs (And BG2 will be out soon for the Mac
Diablo II is considered a "hack and slash" RPG, which has a little more action. If you like more of the action RPGs and less of the AD&D part, then you might look at Summoner which just came out, or Vampire the Masquerade which will be out possibly within this next month. Here is a bit more info on these 2 very cool adventure RPGs...
Vampire
(this preview I put up because I am looking very forward to it) http://www.macgamersreview.com/vamprev.html
Summoner http://www.apple.com/games/articles/2001/05/summoner/
If you read both these pages you may find you have a tough decision on your hands
Cheers,

The concept of Baldur's Gate is excellent. If you've ever played the pen and papter D&D, it's the most faithful recreation of the game for a computer. However, the game itself is a tad buggy, especially with the newly released expansion pack. But I still recommend picking it up if you enjoy a good RPG.
You could also check out:
Cythera by Ambrosia Software
The various offerings of SpiderWeb Software
King of Dragon Pass
Realmz by Fantasoft
There are also some more non-traditional RPGs like Deus Ex if those interest you. A good resource to check out is the RPG Game Database over at Mac Game Database

Wow, Thanks for the suggestions! I have Cythera at home, I never played it all the way through, I'll have to revisit it.
I did play pen and paper D&D so I usually judge games by that. Even though Diablo was hack and slash I had fun with it. I will definitely check out the suggestions!
Thanks again,
Steve

I picked up DII Expansion Tuesday and it is excellent(well, very good at least). More gems, Runes added that do the same thing as gems in sockets and new gameplay. NPC's are more involved, first or second quest is to rescue three imprisoned parties of barbarians.
Still the same crappy "save" setup.
New cut scene leading into level V much higher quality.
Can't wait to get home from work and play some more...
BTW, if you get the expansion set, run B-Net before you try to convert any characters. I didn't and almost lost a lvl93 barbarian(saved him before the update to another folder, "in case")

I think I'm going to go out at lunch and pick up the DII expansion pack and Baldurs Gate (if I can find them). Who knows what this weekends weather is going to bring. Thanks again for the help!
