Okay I broke down and purchased Baldur's Gate today. So far it seems to be the most unstable game I have ever purchased. It will launch and load, but a little while into gameplay, it just quits and freezes the system. Has anyone else been having problems with it? My system is as follows Mac OS 9.0.4 PB g3 266 (WallStreet), 64 MB of RAM, VM 128.

The patch doesn't seem to help.

go to web site http://www.geocities.com/macbaldur/

for lots of discussion about BG. I allocated max of 64 MB to BG and run using a minimum set of extensions. Unless you have a lot of RAM (128+ MB), VM is a must. Set it to 75 MB. Also, make sure you have the new Game Sprockets (1.7.5 ?). BG runs o.k. for me when I use this (MacOS 8.1 on a 603e/240).
Of course, I don't always run under the min
extensions and then the crashes return...

If you haven't done so yet, download the 1.0.1 beta upgrade from
http://www.graphsim.com_old_site/support.htm

It made a big difference for me.

Turn the "weather" off. That made a big difference for me. Also CD #2 seems to be the biggest trouble maker. Once you make it off of CD #2 things get better.
