I REALLY hope it gets ported to X someday. Otherwise, I'd have no need for a PeeCee.

Sorry dude. It won't happen. That has been made clear for a very long time. Besides, the game is so old now anyways I doubt the publisher would be able to make any money off it; it's one of those titles that would appeal only to the hardest of hardcore gamers (i.e the CS crowd) and sadly, there aren't very many on the Mac side. I would loved to be proved wrong, but I sincerely doubt I will.

Blizzard, not to create false hope but did u know Aliens vs Predator IS NOW COMING TO MAC via macplay!!!
It was as good as dead like HL was on mac.
They bought the distributing rights from sierra.
Maybe Halflife could come if AvsP sells good...
Apple needs counterstrike to be taken serious if they want pc goers to switch to mac osx.

You think so? I dunno what other people have noticed, but one by one, all my PC friends are losing interest in CS...it's getting old for them. Maybe it'll resurge in popularity in the future, but I can see its influence waning as we speak. Besides, you say that if AvP sells well, maybe Sierra will take notice; I can think of a time when I would have gladly paid for AvP, but that time is long since passed. They missed their window by a long, long, long shot. Again, I would love to be proven wrong, but seeing as how the Mac gaming market seems to traditionally be quite weak compared to the PC market, I suspect people will focus more on the new games than on games which are upwards of three years old at this point.

Just to suggest a couple of alternatives to Counter-Strike that run on the Mac: Strike Force and Tactical Ops. Strikeforce, www.strikeforcecenter.com, strives for realistic gameplay and is my current favorite. Tactical Ops, www.tactical-ops.net, is a near clone of Counter-Strike. Both of these are pretty high quality mods for Unreal Tournament and are developing faster than Counter-Strike, though they don't yet have the community size.

The mod Urban Terror to Quake 3 is good too.

I have to agree with Blizzard, this game is so old, that any publisher couldn't make a reasonable profit off it.

As for AvP, I wouldn't rely to heavily on it coming out, it's been delayed time and again...
