Just got Alice at MacworldNY and the game is fantastic, very smooth on my powerbook g4 400. I just got up to the "rolling stones" level and now am unable to save past that point. I have gotten to the level after and still can't save. This is a major bug and now I can't play the damn game. Sure, it takes me back to my Atari 2600 days, but screw that, sometimes I need to eat. I hope a patch is released soon.

peace

I just got to the Herbaceous Border on my iMac 400 DV w/ 320 MB RAM. Tonight I will trek forward and see what happens. I'll get back to you!

P.S. Vale of Tears, was that hard or what!

I was able to save. I'm now at Caterpillar's Plot and saved at several places. Try trashing your prefs?

Kept going and finally was able to save when I met Catepillar. Seems this is what happened...

Usually the save games will save and be placed at the last box available. Somewhere after Rolling Stones the game started saving and placing the games on the first page. In other words instead of saving the game in slot 12, then 13, then 14, it saved it in slot 12, then slot 1, then slot 2. The games were always there, I just wasn't looking in the right place.

Now I feel better. This game rocks. How is it on the imac?

Out of curiosity, what detail level are you boyz running it at? I recall that this game was a real graphics-card cruncher on the PC, so I'm curious.

blizzard-

I run the game several different ways, depending on the complexity of the level. If it is a real large one, I run it at 640 x 480 with texture detail maxed out. If the level isn't as taxing on my video card I run it at 800 x 600 with texture detail down one notch. On the bigger levels my computer is grinding away, mostly because of the inadequate video card on the iMacs. It stills runs surprisingly well. I also have 320 mb of RAM, which sure helps. Get it while it's cheap. I think many people are drawn away from this game because of the rumor it is very slow. It is very playable indeed. I'm personally hooked and this really isn't my genre.

shatten22-

How much hard drive space did you have left? That's what may have caused the overlap back to 1. I'm on 15 for my saved files I believe, but I have a good amount of hard drive space left.
