Morning,

The Oni demo isn't letting me go beyond the above res, despite Quake and Unread-based games doing so. Any ideas?

Cube, Radeon, 9.0.4

Interesting demo, for sure.

Just hit return after you have selected your desired res. Then restart the application. It will be set at the res. you selected. Have fun.

Sorry I wasn't clear - the res. dropdown in Oni only contains 640x480 x16 and x32. Not sure the 32 is 32, either.

Any ideas?

Are you sure? The drop down should show 640x480 16 bit, 800x600 16 bit, 1024x768 16 bit, and all of those with 32 bit. Perhaps it's the Radeon drivers. Or, it could possibly be a corrupted download or installation. Try reinstalling it and see what happens. Also, make sure you have the latest game sprockets, input sprockets, draw sprockets, and the sprockets sprockets. Just kidding.

Anyway, make sure everything in your system is up to date, and re-install. That SHOULD fix the problem. The game doesn't really look that much better in higher resolution, so it may not be worth the trouble. Although it IS annoying to always replace your desktop icons.

Your call.

I get all the resolutions in Oni that are accessible from the Monitors control panel. I played the game on a G4/400/128MB/ATI Rage 128 Pro system at 1024x768 @ 32-bit setting and it was oh so fantastic... I want it on the Radeon, though!

Can anyone confirm whether Oni runs on a Radeon???

I'm thinking that's the problem. I haven't purchased a game that includes OpenGL 1.1.5 / 1.2.1, so maybe that's it. I'm using 1.1.4; please let me know what you're running if you can.

irc.godgames.com is pretty much useless.
