Just wondering how to set up OS X to play a 2 computer direct ethernet (crossover cable) connection.

We have 2 seperate cds, of course. (godamned idiots making copies, how you all die)

Help help? C'mon, I head the people here were more helpful and smarter than the MacAddict Forums' people. Lets see your stuff.

All you have to do is make sure that the two computers can see each other in the Connect to Server... Dialoge. I have never had any luck with crossover cables , so I have a hub. But if the Computers can see each other in the connect window than you can play Warcraft 3. You should try asking the question about crossover cables in the networking forum.

If one or both of your machines has an autosensing ethernet card (laptops only for Apple products, I think), then you can use whatever cable you want. Otherwise you need a crossover cable or a hub.

Then, open the network preferences for both machines and give them each an IP. It doesn't matter what it is... most people would use 192.168.0.X.

Start WarCraft and connect the machines each using the other's IP.

Hmm... things that I already said I had that were mentioned by others:
- Crossover cable
things that could be assumed by this:
- that I know enough to have bought a crossover cable
- that I know how to set up the two computers so they can see eachother.

More information:
I have a crossover cable. It works perfectly to share files. I use it frequently. Does WC III work? No. What can we assume from this? That being abe to "see eachother in the Connect to Server... dialogue" is not evident that Warcraft III will work ove said connection.

Eh, oh well, like in the MacAddict forums I shall figure it out myself.
