Great, now only a year to wait before we can play it on the mac.
Just hope it's not too outdated by then.

I'll buy it! Hope I have a new PowerMac by then.
I wonder though, if it'll show it's age compared with other games that will come during the next 12 months.

I'm a big supporter of Bungie, and Halo is a GREAT game, but I have to say that this is pretty lame. It's essentially Bungie/MS convering their arses by saying they delivered it "like they said they would".
By summer 2003, Unreal 2K3, Doom III, and god knows what else will be out. Halo, I fear, will look fairly dated.

I'm very excited by this. It's about time. I don't care if it's way late, I just want the stinking game. It's a matter of principle.

Why isn't Bungie doing it? I thought they had 'in house' Mac developers? True sellouts to the core. No disrespect to Westlake but, I'll pass. In 2003 they will be competition with Doom3 and Unrea Tournament 2003. Should have been out 3 years ago like it was planned.

Unfortunatly, Halo will be a pretty sad game when it's released. I remember watching the MacWorld Keynote when Steve pulled the Bungie guys on the stage, and showed us all the first demo of Halo. The demo was impressive, what was more impressive was the audible gasp from the audience when the guy doing the demo said all the graphics were being done in real time on the G4. Granted this was.. 2 (Maybe 3?) years ago? I remember being ready to rock out on a new G4 with Halo. Well, here we are today and I'm still running my old G3, and Halo is for now still an Xbox only title.
As for Doom III...... It will be shipping about the same time (maybe, you know how these things go), and I can tell you, gameplay aside, it looks a HELL of a lot better graphically then Halo does. So, these days I can't wait to rock out on Doom III in my new G4 (G5 maybe by then?).
God bless 'em for bringing Halo back to the Mac finally, but it's a little to late.

I've been waiting for this to happen just like CIA. I can clearly remember sitting at work watching the brodcast and being in awe. I think that it'll be a little behind for the time when it comes out - being that it's not the newest and greatest - but I'll still be fun. I've seen Halo on the XBox and it looks great, but I just can't stand the controler - I need my keyboard!
Good job that it's comming to the mac - and I feel really sorry for Bungie. Personaly I don't think they "soldout", but rather MS saw a product that would be great for PC/XBox and flexed it's dollars and purchased the company... Bungie still made Oni for Mac while under MS, but the only draw I have to go buy an XBox is that Halo is only available there -- MS knows this -- and wouldn't be happy if Bungie released it for Mac (anytime soon) as it would hurt XBox sales. Just my 2 cents.

Actually Bungie didn't finish Oni. They ported it out to Omni, and then licensed out Myth as well once they 'soldout' to Microsoft. Now with Halo they are fully 'soldout' and it has been ported out to Destineer and Westlake, and NOT being done by Bungie so they can work on Halo 2 for the X-Box. That is Bungie focus now.

F Bungie. F them up the a$$. F them hard, F them deep. Yeah, go ahead, license out development for HALO. Too little, too late. All karma is shot to hell. You're still a pack of sellouts.

I say BOYCOTT MICROSLAP and BUNGIE! No one buys Halo. Sorry Westlake...I know you guys are doing the port but I'm not gonna allow MS to milk more money from us for a game that will be 2 years old.
MS will be charging full price for a 2 year old game that should have been out for PC and Mac almost a year ago...and that's not right.
This is truly sickening. Screw everyone! Die Bungie, die! Die Microslap, Die!

Had it come last September like promised I'd be first in line to get it. Had it come in December like the X-Box version I'd be first in line to get it. Had it come by March this year I'd get it, but summer 2003 I'm gonna give them the olongest finger I have.

Halo is gonna look very dated when it comes. I think it's great that it is coming but I am underwhelmed.

All major games coming out on Mac is a win to me. I'm still hoping for Dark Forces II/Jedi Knight.
What I like about the Halo announcement is that Mac and PC is treated alike. In the long run, that's what matters to me.

But why would you feed Microsoft money for a 2 year old game? Microsoft made everyone buy an X-Box to buy Halo...both these items put lots of money in MS's pockets (well...apparently they lost money selling the X-Box but that's besides the point)...and now they're gonna charge the same amount of money to you in a year from now.
I shake my head in disappointment at anyone who buys Halo next summer.

Let's say Halo comes out...will the requirements for it to run smoothly will be the same as they announced two years ago? Or will they make the reqs. something like a DP 1GHz PowerMac with GeForce 6 (512MB), for 640 x 480?
If they do come out with Halo I would expect it to run smoothly on the type of PowerMacs they announced it on.
What do you guys think?
