I purchased tropico yesterday and the first thing I noticed about it was that it is VERY VERY slow on my dual 450 G4 with 448MB of RAM and a 32mb Radeon. Can anyone confirm its slowness and does anyone know if Macsoft is planning on fixing this?

thanks.

Tropico is slow on my Cube with a 32 MB Radeon. It has something to do with an open GL glitch. Also try hardware/software acceleration configs. That may help.

Are you running it on OS X or OS 9? On my DP G4/500 w/320 RAM, it's completely unusable on X, but reasonably smooth on OS 9, even with fairly built-up islands.

And don't think it's a Mac problem, either. It runs like a dog on high end Wintel boxes, too. As the previous poster said, try adjusting video settings - when I first ran, I noticed that it was using software rendering so I switched to Hardware acceleration - and that seemed to fix some speed problems.

Cool game - but it's buggy as sin.

Oh, and you can't rotate most buildings so don't pull your hair out trying to find how to do that, either!
