Ambrosia Software, Inc. has just released Pillars of Garendall, a huge and fanciful action/adventure game that gently carries you off to a distant land of adventure and excitement! Click on the image below to enter the Kingdom of Garendall!

The full version and the demo version is available for the Macintosh now (Mac OS X native, too!) -- the Windows version is coming soon! The CDs are being pressed, so it'll be a few weeks before the CD version is available.

The files are also mirrored here:

full version (150mb) -- http://berserkir.ambrosia.net/seedin...g_full.img.bin

demo version (29mb) -- http://berserkir.ambrosia.net/seedin...g_demo.img.bin

...and will soon be mirrored on http://www.MacGameFiles.com/

Yay! Go Andrew. Just got the demo, and it feels like a commercial, $50 RPG from an company that makes good RPGs. Can't wait to get Coldstone and make my one.

BTW, does anyone else think the music sounds like Lufia II?

:Sigh:

I'll let you know when I get it downloaded. Chose the full install, but it's dragging along at a blazing 2k per second. And this is on my work T1! Must be all the other ambrosia addicts downloading the game...

MacGameFiles has posted a copy of the PoG demo. I'm only getting 15-20k/s ATM, but at least I can get a download slot!

I downloaded teh demo yesterday, and I'm hopelessly addicted. I was going to wait till I get to my ethernet connection on saturday to get the full version, but I've already exhausted all the possibilities in the demo. If I register my copy, will I be able to venture even further, in spite of it being the demo, or will I need the full version?

Thanks,
Geoff

You'll need the full version -- we had to cut an incredible number of things out of the demo to make it the size it is.

Glad to hear you're enjoying Pillars of Garendall! I have a problem, which is that I've got work to do, but I'm addicted to PoG as well -- been playing it all day!

And are older Ambrosia games being ported to OSX like "slithereens" , "ares" , "cythera" , etc.......????

aaaand (sorry ) , will all these games support the upcoming Gameranger for OSX?

Keep up the great work Ambrosia !!!

Please note: these files are being uploading as I type this; they will NOT be fully uploaded and available until after 6pm EST, 8/30/2001. Do not attempt to download them from these URLs until after that time, or the download will be incomplete.

.....

Due to the high demand for Pillars of Garendall, we have set up a special mirror at Mac.com for the game. You can download either the demo or the full version of Pillars of Garendall from Mac.com here:

Full (151mb) -- http://homepage.mac.com/ambrosia/mac_pog_full.img.bin

It is about to hit beta 3; beyond that I can't say.

If the authors of the respective games wish to go back and carbonize them, we'd love to have it happen.

Any networkable games we do will have GameRanger support.

Yes I had to attempt it twice. I DLed the full file on a DSL and got horrible DL rates. I am sure when people begin getting this and going to the mirrorsit will help the accessibility for everyone.

Good luck, it looks like a great game and *unbelievable* engine for creating your own games!

It took about a day and a half (Literally! But this was before the mirror site was set up) to download but dammit! it's fun and addictive.

That was the last thing I needed....another game to play....

I was hoping for fun. Fun I could handle. Fun lets me get my other work done. Addictive mean neglecting the world until my eyeballs dry out and fall onto my keyboard.

Damn you Ambrosia! You've done it to me again!
