In reading the past threads it seems that alot of people who play Quake, Alice, etc. prefer to use the keyboard with a mouse (or rollerball). Is the iShock II an improvement over the original iShock that has convinced some people to switch, or are there some real advantages to using the keyboard that I don't know about?

Also, my brother has an amazing controller for Quake on his PC. It is a M$ controller that kinda rotates & swivels in the middle section. I am just a beginning Quake player, but having used it, I can't imagine a better controller exists for this game (of course it only works one week out of every month - but that's beside the point).

So I guess I'm trying to *both* figure out "what the best setup is" and also "what my options are". - ex., can I get that M$ controller and use some kind of a patch or something to make it work on my PB or is a controller sub-optimal and therefore I should just learn to play on the keyboard?

Thanks, T.
