What a great game! It worked well on my spG4 450 AGP with the stock Ati card... for a while. Shortly after installing the game, display quirks started showing up: lost detail, garbled display components (speedo, menus, etc). I reinstalled the game, which corrected things for a while, but the problems came back. Troubleshooting files suggest I should run the game on a low detail setting, and while this fixes the problem, it's not satisfactory. Why have a near photorealistic game and not be able to enjoy it on a machine which, while not brand new, is no slouch either?

Questions: anyone else experiencing this? any known solutions?

yeah.
I've had a variety of problems with this one, mine crashes on me from time to time. Have you visited http://www.mac4x4evo.f2s.com/cgi-bin.../ikonboard.cgi it's not very active but it's mac specific, before doing that try upping the memory by 10 mg from the default setting. There's also a more popular general 4x4 forum, do a search there and your'e sure to find something; http://www.vales.com/4x4/KCforumIndex.html

I have been playing the demo version of 4x4 and was not aware the full version was out. The game runs ok for me but crashes some.

Can you say "not stable?" This game runs well but it crashes on my iMac DV (64 Megs RAM with VM kicked to 300 Megs!) without any notice! It seems to me that the load time and graphics are normal but the game still crashed. The problem was soooooooo... bad that I had to through out the demo! Help!

P.S. (I don't have money to burn! If you know of a RAM discounter in Maryland (near Harford County please e-mail me at andypolack@excite.com ) Thanks!
