I think that the Mac version is 2.5 and wont work with the 2.52 Windows version. Lets hope that a patch is released soon...

Planning a LAN Fest at work. Will Rogue Spear Mac work with an out of the box Rogue Spear PC?
Just ordered my copy of Rogue Spear!

I'm posting into this thread so that it comes back to the front in the hopes that someone else can help... My friend has a PC, and when I try to connect to his rogue spear sever through my airport network, I get the error: The server is using an older version of the software, and cannot accept this client.' But he updated his to 2.0.5, and the builds match in the main menu screen... Any ideas? So not only do Mac users have to wait 2 years before games get released for us, but even when they do come out, we can't play them with our PC-owning friends? screw that.

I've never had the PC hosted it, but with a Mac hosting, a PC can connect fine (via IP). I do believe the PC had to revert to the version that came in the box...

I really like it, the only game I play nowadays, besides Solitaire. It's by far the most realistic game on the market. (i.e. when you get shot in the leg, you limp with that leg). The port of it wasn't very well done, so multiplayer is not terribly stable. (when I host, my computer will freeze about every 2 hours) I highly recommend the game, especially if you think those Q3 people move a little too fast

My son plays the new Rogue Spear game on a Mac B&W G3 300mhz. 256megs real ram. Virtual Memory enabled. When he plays the game with the cd music enabled in the options, the mouse and game is sluggish and jerky. Turnig off he cd music the game works, but crashes after 1/2 hour and he computer needs to be restarted by the reset button on the cmputer itself. I have tried witout virtual memory on, minimum extensions, no Appletalk, etc... You name it I tried it. Rainow six plays fine all day long without any setting changes.
Is Rogue Spear just a poor buggy Mac game and there isn't anyting we can do? Thanks for any input.

Well, as much fun as RS is, it is not the smoothest game. I'm running it on an old school G3 266 with a 16MB ATI Orion. I'm looking forward to running it on my new G4/733/GeForce2MX tomorrow (unless FedEx loses my computer for a 3rd time). I'll post later if there's a huge difference in performance.
