It will launch when Xbox launches. This was discussed after MS bought Bungie. Halo is going to be one of the "killer app" launch titles that MS hopes will encourage more gamers to buy the Xbox.

PC and Mac versions will ship around the same time, maybe a bit later, last I heard.

The Mac and PC versions of Halo will NOT ship around the same time as the X-Box version. Think a few months later, at least. Microsoft wants to make sure that everyone thinks of Halo as an X-Box title before it becomes available for the Mac or PC.

Am I the only one that wasn't too impressed by that huge trailer? I don't know, but driving and shooting from a jeep isn't that big of a deal.

Gameplay, gameplay, gameplay. Admittedly, that's had to demonstrate when
a) it doesn't yet exist
b) they haven't nailed it down yet
c) it's a fricken movie.

Still, I'm not loosing sleep over Halo. I think I'm just ticked Oni doesn't work with my Radeon. :

You have got to be crazy not to like Halo! Lets think about this for a sec. HALO is coming from Bungie, (a mac gamers distinguished company) This games graphics are unbelievable and the fact that it still has no rivals in game play and complexity doesn't excite you? My only problem is that even Oni don't work on my poor iMac DV!

Umm don't get me wrong, Halo will kick a**. And I'm sure its storyline will be unparalleled. However, Red Faction looks like it's going to be an incredible game.

Why won't your DV play Oni! My rev A iMac will play it. But then again I'm cheating because I have a GameWizard Voodoo2.

Whether you had the $$$ or not, you wouldn't be able to try it. Only bondi iMacs can use the gamewizard voodoo. iMac DV=no mezzanine.

According to Matt from Bungie, the mac/pc version will DEFINETELLY (read: for sure) not be released until after the x-box version. He mentioned a conversation with MS executives where they discussed how they wanted Bungie to work on the Mac/pc port...i think i saw it on the forum at halo.bungie.net.
But all this is expected

If Bungie becomes an x-box only developer and leaves us in the cold, I hope that some enterprising company will pick up the slack...

Bungie will not become an X-box only game company, somebody will have to port all these X-box games to the PC (because the PC users will want them) and then to the Mac (because M$ said it's bringing all it's games to the Mac). So bungie should be really busy.
